Week 8 Reading and Writing
Reflection Week 8
Reflection |
Overall, I enjoyed reading the stories in this class. The Ramayana was much more enjoyable to me than the Mahabharata. I thought that the Ramayana had a much more clear plot and likable, understandable characters. My favorite reading was the Jataka Anthology from Week 2. I loved writing my own version of How the Turtle Saved His Own Life. I have found that my favorite reading strategy is taking bullet point notes. It helps me to remember key plot details in a concise way. It's also helpful for me to write down story ideas or twists that I think of as I'm reading.
I am very excited about my class project because I really like my theme. However, I do plan on doing a lot of revising and rethinking my stories to make sure it flows well and as one coherent plot. I don't love where my story is at right now, but I'm excited for the potential it has. I am most excited and proud of what my story will become.
Hanuman's Leap |
I chose this image because I loved the story of Hanuman's leap. I really fell in love with the character of Hanuman. I thought he was a great friend and added a lot of depth to the story. It also reminded me of the video we could watch in the first week, Hanuman Rock On. It was a great way to start off the semester and get me excited for the readings to come.
As I move forward in the semester, I want to be more intentional about taking advantage of the extra credit opportunities. I especially enjoyed the Famous Last Words assignment I did in one of the first weeks. It was really fun to reflect on my progress that week and I plan on doing more in the future. I think that reflection posts will help me appreciate the readings more.
